Ms. Joan Frizzell Smith, age 91, of Bonifay, Florida passed away March 4, 2024, at her home. She was born March 1, 1933, in Taylorsville, Maryland to the late Harry Frizzell and Helen Harn Frizzell. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, H. Selby Smith, six sisters, Eloise Woode, Dorothy Gosnell, Patsy Smith, Arta Gartrell, Vivian Hann, and Yvonne Ripley, and five brothers, Hershel ‘Bud’ Frizzell, Truman Frizzell, Horace Frizzell, Paul Frizzell, and Harry ‘Newts’ Frizzell.
Ms. Smith is survived by several nieces and nephews; her God Child, Stacy Hawthorne; a special nephew, Rock Crowder; great-great-niece, Tanya Hedlund; great-great-great-nieces and nephew, Hemi Gammons, Levi Hedlund, and Kaithlyn Joan Hedlund; numerous extend family members.
Memorialization will be by cremation with Peel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
