Ms. Mary Cathern Leavins, age 79, of Bonifay, Florida passed away February 2, 2023, at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center in Bonifay. She was born June 2, 1943, in Holmes County Florida to the late John Thomas Lewis and Deliah Leavins Lewis. In addition to her parents, Cathern was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Sterlin Leavins, one son, Travis Urquhart, one daughter, Samantha Pitts, one grandson, Kolby Miller; three sisters, Viola Lewis, Mildred Darley, and Ellen Spivey; four brothers, Columbus Lewis, Chester ‘Shorty’ Lewis, Carlton Lewis, and Curtis Lewis.
Cathern is survived by two daughters, Selene Miller and Harry Hall and Tasha Leavins; one son, Rusty Leavins and wife Nancy; nine grandchildren, Kalen Miller, Jessica Bowers, Michelle Andrews, Nicole Leavins, James Leavins, Brittney Pitts, Dustin Collins, Tristan Prevatt, and Dillian Leavins; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Memorialization will be by creation with Peel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
