MARY WALDEINE PITTS LEAVINS

Ms. Mary Waldeine Pitts Leavins, age 93, of Bonifay, Florida passed away September 23, 2026, at her home.  She was born on March 25, 1933, in Bonifay, Florida to the late Jesse James Pitts and Mary Esther Curry Pitts.  In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Hoover Leavins, a granddaughter, Colleen Keese, and several siblings.

Ms. Leavins is survived by four daughters, Beverly Ann Leavins of Bradley, FL, Dianne Bowman and husband Mickey of Bonifay, FL, Mary Gail Leavins of Bonifay, FL, and Donna Kay Grubbs of Tifton, GA; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mary was a hardworking, independent woman who lived life in her own special way. She was a woman who believed in staying busy and taking pride in her home and her surroundings.

Mary loved working in her yard and could often be found on her riding lawnmower, cutting her grass and keeping her property looking just the way she liked it. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially sitting along the creek bank fishing for redhorse suckers. These simple pleasures brought her happiness and created memories that will be treasured by those who knew her.

Mary also had a love for her Bruton Scotch Snuff, a familiar part of her everyday life and one of the many little things that made her uniquely Mary.

Mary will be remembered with love and affection by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who loved her.

A private graveside service was held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 26, 2026, in the New Smyrna Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements.
