Mr. Wiley Ray Jenks, age 76, of Bonifay, Florida went to be with his Lord on September 10, 2021, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. He was born March 28, 1945, in Lottie, Alabama. Ray was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Jenks, his mother, Vivian Milstead Hunter, and one sister, Betty McCormick.
Ray worked with Gulf Power for 46 years and retired as an ENC Supervisor in Chipley. A longtime youth football and baseball coach in Pensacola he mentored many children and youth. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ray and his wife Sharon have been members of First Baptist Bonifay for several years.
Mr. Jenks is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon Jenks of Bonifay, FL; two sons, Randall Troy Jenks and wife Barbara of Headland, AL and Jonathan Ray Jenks and wife Angie of Pensacola, FL; five grandchildren, Charles Jordan and wife Shelley, Chase Jenks and wife Jacie, Sarah Jenks, Jacob Jenks and Autumn Jenks; three great-grandchildren, Finlay, Grier, and Gatlin; one brother, Kennie Jenks and wife Elsie of Robertsdale, AL; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 9 to 10 AM at First Baptist Bonifay. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at First Baptist Bonifay with Rev. Shelly Chandler officiating. Interment will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 15, 2021, in the Bayview Memorial Park in Pensacola, Florida.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Holmes County EMS for their many years of service and helping the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 311 North Waukesha Street, Bonifay, FL 32425.
