
Billy Gene Casey, age 82, of Ebro, FL passed peacefully from this life in his home on Saturday, April 8, 2023. He was born on March 20, 1941, in Ebro, FL to the late Samuel Edward Casey and Clyty Odessie (Strickland) Casey. He was a resident of Ebro most of his life with the exception of a few years spent in Bunnell, FL.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Olean Casey.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Sarah Lucile Casey; daughter Sherri Taylor and husband Dwayne; grand-daughter Casey Dudley and husband Jimmy; great-grand-daughter, JacksynAnne Dudley; sister Christine Casey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Billy Gene attended Vernon High School. His lifetime career was spent as a Longshoreman in the maritime industry at Port Panama City, and Bay Harbor Docks in Panama City, FL loading and unloading sea-going vessels. He was an outdoorsman and had a love for nature. He was Thankful and sure of God’s graciousness in settling his family in Beautiful Washington County, FL. He spent many days fishing the river and hunting the land he loved with his best friend Sarah right by his side. Billy Gene was blessed with God-given talent and musical abilities passed on through his Daddy and other family members which allowed him many opportunities. In his early years when starting his family his talent was beneficial as a much-needed income supplement. Once Billy was saved, he began using his gifts and talent to give Praise and Glory to His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Music was a huge and much enjoyed part of his life that opened many doors for him to meet people, help and instruct others along their way, and make many life-long friends.
Funeral Services for Billy Gene will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Spring Valley Holiness Church. The family will receive friends for visitation starting at 11:00 A.M. Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 Noon with Pastor, Rossie Bryant and Bro. Billy Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow at Ebro Community Cemetery.
