HERSHEL GENE CARNLEY

Mr. Hershel Gene ‘Uncle Buck’ Carnley, age 74, of Bonifay, Florida passed away July 18, 2026, at Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama.  He was born on January 24, 1952, in Bonifay, Florida.  Hershel was preceded in death by his father, Ira Gene Carnley, his mother, Syble Stafford Sellers, and one brother, Bobby Ray Carnley.

Mr. Carnley is survived by his wife of 51½ years, Lana Carnley; his special children, Devon Mercer and wife Jenny, Tasha M^cKay and husband Phillip, Clarissa Hall and husband Zach, Morgan Johnson and husband Jevin, Dyllan M^cKay, Jake Lee, Huntleigh Hall, and Rowyn Hall; one sister, Geraldine Chambliss.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Caryville Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Edward Williams officiating.  Interment will follow in the Caryville City Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 10 to 11 AM at Caryville Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.
