Lila George Hodge, 81, of Panama City, FL passed away peacefully on October 19, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born in Bonifay, FL on June 25, 1941, to the late Clifton and Agnes Hodge.
He lived in the panhandle area all his life where he met and married the love of his life, Marie, and spent the next 55 years together raising their two children.
George retired from the Florida Department of Transportation and was an avid fan of the Florida Gators.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marie Hodge; his parents, Clifton and Agnes Hodge, stepmom, Cleo Hodge, and sister, JoAnn Royalty.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Mark Hodge and wife Rita, Myra Badaglia and husband Joe, along with his grandchildren, Stephen Hodge, Blake Williams, and Joey Badaglia all of Panama City, FL, niece, Dana Rich and husband Matthew of Bonifay, FL, and sister-in-law, Linda Maree of Elizabethtown, KY. Along with many friends and family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 12:00 Noon in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel in Bonifay, FL with Josh Fidler officiating. Interment will follow at New Effort Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time. Family will be gathering at the home of Mark and Rita Hodge in Lynn Haven, FL after the graveside service.
