Lorraine Rose Miller Vollnogel, age 94, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022. She was born Thursday, December 29, 1927, to Julia Kachala Miller and William Miller in Bronx, New York. They moved to Long Island where she graduated from high school. She attended Secretary College and learned short-hand. She worked at MGM in New York City for a while before her and her family moved to Florida. She got married and raised eight children as devout Catholics. Her faith was always a strong foundation for her children growing up. She taught her children about GOD.
In 1978, she married Charles ‘Charlie’ Vollnogel. They became a professional truck driving team. They obtained the coveted two million mile safe driver award each. In 2002 they bought a place just north of Bonifay and retired.
Charlie passed away after 38 years of marriage. Lorraine is survived by her sister, Marilyn Spoto, her eight children, Elaine (Bob) Kosloski, Diana (Paul) Balentine, Lorraine Thomas, Terry (Clara) Thomas, Debbie Parker, Fred Thomas, Chris (Charla) Thomas, Cyndi (Joe) Thomas. Her niece, Gina Coman Spoto, 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and one nephew.
Funeral services were held at the Naval Air Station, Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 9:00 AM. This is the home of the Blue Angels which Lorraine and Charlie loved to watch whenever they were in town.
