Ms. Maggie Mae Palmer, age 80, of Caryville, Florida passed away May 1, 2022, at her home. She was born May 31, 1941, in Samson, Alabama to the late A. W. Thames and Lenora Stafford Thames. In addition to her parents, Ms. Palmer was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Lee Palmer, five brothers, Randall Thames, Thaniel Thames, Daniel Thames, Ray Thames, and Donnie Thames, one sister, Thelma Harcus, one son, Clarence Palmer and one great-grandson.
Ms. Palmer is survived by one son, Larry Palmer and wife Mary of Caryville, FL; five daughters, Linda Sue Pitts and husband Charles of Caryville, FL, Ann Locke of Bonifay, FL, Wanda Carnley and husband Lewis of Bonifay, FL, Leisa Palmer of Bonifay, FL, and Jodie Embrey and husband Kevin of Graceville, FL; three sisters, Martha Faye Henderson of Ponce de Leon, FL, Beatrice Curry of Bonifay, FL, and Mary Wyatt of Bonifay, FL; three brothers, Robert Thames of Ponce de Leon, FL, Ronnie Thames of Crestview, FL, and Rickey Thames and wife Sharon of Bonifay, FL; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Caryville Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Ed Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Caryville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday at Peel Funeral Home.
