MILDRED LEE MARTIN TREADWELL

Mildred Lee Martin, was born on January 7, 1930, at her home in the Bethlehem area. She became Mildred Treadwell on August 9, 1947, after her true love, Buck, returned from his service in the army.  They remained close to home and had two children, Janice and Gary, then moved away for a time before coming full circle back to farm living.

Mildred was known by many names. She was "Honey" to her husband, "Mother" to her children, "Momo" to her grandchildren, "Sister" to siblings, "Aunt Mildred" to many and "Friend" to a multitude.

She truly had a servant's heart and never shied away from work in any form. She loved the Lord and doing his work. Whether it was teaching young children in Sunday School, feeding and caring for the sick, attending to the "elderly" in a nursing home facility (when she was in her 80's), and doing any and everything for her family, who she loved unconditionally.

She passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on December 4, 2023, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.  Her absence will leave a void in the hearts and lives of many, but what wonderful memories and blessings will remain.

Family members left to treasure her memory include her daughter, Janice (Eddie) Singletary; son, Gary (Debby) Treadwell; grandchildren, Stasee Gardner, Amanda (Carey) Turner, Holli (Chris) Fowler, Kandis (Shane) Bergman; great-grandchildren, Chase Kirkland, Madi Flammia, Mason Flammia, Cade Fowler, Layla Bergman, Gage Fowler; and great-great-grandson, Jase Kirkland. She also leaves behind her loving brother, James (Lynda) Martin, and several special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Esker and Alice Martin; husband, Buck Treadwell; sisters,

Mary Andre and Merle Sanders; brothers, Odell Martin and Robert Martin.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Bonifay, FL with the service to follow with Rev Gene Hauser and Rev John Treadwell officiating.  One hour of visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday at First Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at the (former) New Zion Baptist Church cemetery.

Her chosen pallbearers are Chase Kirkland, Mason Flammia, Cade Fowler, Gage Fowler, Shane Bergman and Haywood Sanders.  Marti Steverson Lee will provide a tribute in song.
