ARTHUR  STEVE  DRIVER

Updated: Apr 8

Mr. Arthur Steve Driver, age 81, a devoted family man, retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer, and beloved member of the Westville, Florida community, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 6, 2024.  He was born September 12, 1942, in Blakely, Georgia to the late Arthur Dillard ‘Mutt’ Driver and Inez Braswell Driver.

After a distinguished career in the US Navy, where he served with honor and distinction, Steve embarked on a new chapter in his life. He utilized his expertise in communications and security systems by becoming a self-employed installer.  Later, Steve transitioned to a role as an insurance adjuster for the United States Department of Agriculture, where his meticulous attention to detail and compassion for others made a lasting impact.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Steve was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.  However, above all else, Steve's heart belonged to his family. He found joy in spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, and all the critters/animals they would bring to his home.  He leaves behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mr. Driver is survived by his wife, Linda Dianne Driver of Westville, FL; two children, Mark Driver and wife Heather of Minneapolis, MN and Paula Dixon and husband Ron of Bonifay, FL; one brother, Jimmy Driver and wife Jean of Blakely, GA; five grandchildren, Josh Dixon, Joley Dixon, Jacob Driver, Hannah Driver, and Lucas Driver; four great-grandchildren, Roxy Dixon, Asher Dixon, Joshua Dixon, and Kencade Dixon; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Campground Church with Rev. Brent Jones officiating.  Interment with military honors will be held in the Campground Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 PM at Campground Church.
