Mrs. Betty Dawn Messer, age 72, of Bonifay, Florida passed away April 23, 2024, at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center in Bonifay. She was born September 19, 1951, in Bonifay, Florida to the late L.C. Smith and Christine B. Smith. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by one sister, Xandra ‘Sissy’ Gail Smith and one brother, Joseph Smith.
Betty was a beloved soul whose passion for fishing was matched only by her love for family. She found joy in cooking, sharing her delicious recipes with friends, and creating memorable moments with her children and grandchildren. Her warm presence and culinary talents will be dearly missed but forever cherished by those she touched.
Mrs. Messer is survived by her husband, Doug Messer of Graceville, FL; two sons, Jeremy Richardson and wife Shannon of Crawfordville, FL and Zack Richardson and wife Jody of Westville, FL; four grandchildren, Logan Richardson, Cooper Richardson, Emma Dee Richardson, and Marilyn Richardson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2024, in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bonifay Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
