CHERYL JUNE HAMMOND

Ms. Cheryl June Hammond, age 80, of Bonifay, Florida passed away November 15, 2024, at her home. She was born July 18, 1944, in Brisbane, Australia to the late Richard Espin Fysh and Violet Fischer Fysh. In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Hammond and one granddaughter, Hannah.


Ms. Hammond is survived by two sons, Darren Hammond of Bonifay, FL and Richard Hammond and wife, Leighia of Conway, AR; one step-daughter, Kelly Hammond of Bonifay, FL; seven grandchildren, Kaylyn, Sydney, Thomas, Lainey, John, Josh, and Katie; six great-grandchildren, Trenton, Bren, Eden, Brooklynn, Giuliana, and Ella; two siblings, Peter George Fysh and Roslyn Elaine Merry both of Australia; several nieces and nephews.


A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 23, 2024, in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 AM at Peel Funeral Home. Memorialization will be by cremation with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of the arrangements.


In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hannah Jane Hammond Memorial Endowment. This endowment was set up in memory of Cheryl’s beautiful granddaughter. The money earned from this endowment is used to fund private lessons and band camp scholarships for Conway Schools band students year after year. There are four ways to give:
