Curtis Gene Bryan, 69, of Marianna, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024. Curtis was born February 26, 1955, to Ellen and Davis Bryan in Holmes County, Florida, where he was also raised. He was known for his love of wrestling, the Dukes of Hazzard and of course, the Florida State Seminoles. He also enjoyed visits with his cousin, Myrt Simms of Bonifay, and loved spending time with her. As teenagers, Curtis and his brother, Kenny, met his best friend, Bruce, at Sunland. When they all became young adults and able to learn some independence, the three of them became inseparable, living together first at Ms. Dot’s group home in Hosford. Curtis, Kenny and Bruce joined Habilitative Services in 2002 and lived together at the Webb House in Bristol, where their life skills continued to thrive. In 2016, the three of them moved to the Seminole House in Marianna. Curtis
has been cared and loved for by the Hab. Services staff, especially his longtime caregivers Margaret Danley (retired) whom he called “Mama”, Joanne Campbell who was his “sister” and Jeanie Rogers. Curtis was predeceased by his parents, Ellen and Davis and his brother, Kenny. A memorial service will be held at Peel Funeral Home in Bonifay on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 10:00 am. Memorialization was by cremation with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements.
