Mr. Howard D. Gilley, age 83, of Bonifay, Florida passed away January 12, 2023, at Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, Florida. He was born December 21, 1939, in Bonifay, Florida. Howard was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Gilley, his mother, Lillian Butler Gilley, his father-in-law, Alonzo Howard, and one brother-in-law, Quentin Adams.
Mr. Gilley is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beatrice Gilley of Bonifay, FL; one daughter, Cecelia ‘Birdie’ Brunk and husband Dennis of Bonifay, FL; two sons, Steve Gilley and Lonnie Gilley both of Bonifay, FL; four grandchildren, Marcus Brandon Dykes, Daphne Renee Dykes, William Robert Brunk, and Jacob Shelton; one great-grandchild, Marcus Dawson Dykes; three sisters, Roxie Adams of Panama City, FL and Dian Whitaker and husband Richard of Bonifay, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Jauanne Howard of Alva, FL; mother to grandchild, Aurora Shelton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2023, in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitch Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Steverson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Peel Funeral Home.
