Mr. James Henry Manning, age 89, of Ponce de Leon, Florida passed away April 17, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. He was born August 26, 1931 in Ponce de Leon, Florida to the late Hurtis Manning and Thelma Horne Manning. In addition to his parents, Mr. Manning was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Cleo Music Manning and three siblings, Ruby Grantham, Doris Davis, and Daisy Manning.
Mr. Manning is survived by his eight children, Wendell Manning and wife Myrtle of Mossy Head, FL, Wayne Manning and wife Tammy of Ponce de Leon, FL, Janice Foister and husband Doug of Panama City, FL, Glenda Sue Roller of Ironton, OH, Lori Smith and husband Eric of LaBelle, FL, Donna Walsingham and husband Eric of Ponce de Leon, FL, Chrissy Harris and husband Gary of Bonifay, FL, and Brenda Wylene Thomas and husband Howard of Paxton, FL; a honorary daughter, Tina Rushing and husband Matt of Ponce de Leon, FL; six siblings, Ruth Collinsworth, Gladys Moore, Evelyn Evans, Buddy Manning, Voncile Canoy, and Frank Manning; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at New Smyrna Assembly of God Church with Rev. John Richbourg and Rev. Steve Boroughs officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonifay Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at New Smyrna Assembly of God Church.
