Mr. Jerry Gibson, age 76, of Bonifay, Florida, passed away March 18, 2023, at Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama. He was born September 20, 1946, in Geneva, Alabama to the late William Jeard Gibson and Irene Trim Gibson. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one son, Billy Waddell, two sisters, Juanita Clark and Mary Urquart, and four brothers, Billy Ray Gibson, Danny Ray Gibson, O’Neil Gibson, and Edward Gibson.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Darlene Gibson; three sons, Shane Gowins, Terry Peacock, and David Waddell; three daughters, Abby Nieves, Florecia Peacock, and Samantha Stevens; 12 grandchildren, Roxie DeRosa, Terra Peacock, Haley Gowins, Skyler Gowins, Logan Ruiz, Evelyn Grace, Gabriel Lukas, Dillon Waddell, Gabriel Waddell, Lyndsi Peacock, Ehren Nieves, and Elijah Nieves; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Gibson; one sister, Julie Ann Gibson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 23, 2023, in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Esto Community Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 PM at Peel Funeral Home.
