MAXINE HODGE BUSH

Ms. Maxine Hodge Bush, age 93, of Bonifay, Florida passed away June 13, 2026, at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, Florida.  She was born June 15, 1932, in Plant City, Florida to the late Maxwell Hodge and Lois Ellis Hodge.  In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eugene ‘Tommy’ Bush, three brothers, Kenny Hodge, Carthel Hodge, and Clifford Hodge, and one sister, Ernestine Grantham.

Ms. Bush is survived by three sons, Donnie Bush and wife Tammy of Bonifay, FL, Phillip Bush and wife Sheri of Tibbie, AL, and Dennis Bush and wife Maureen of Panama City, FL; one daughter, Connie McLendon and husband Paul of Quincy, FL; one brother, Richard Hodge and wife Pepper of Bonifay, FL; one sister, Hilda Thomason of DeFuniak Springs, FL; eight grandchildren, Kelly Patrick, Emily Reid, Nicholas Bush, Carrie Hayford, Clara Taylor, Daniel Bush, Wesley Bush, and Meredith Mock; thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Peel Funeral Home Chapel.  A private family graveside will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the New Effort Cemetery Fund.
