NETTIE AUDREY IRENE SHIELDS

Ms. Nettie Audrey Irene Burch Shields, age 99, of Bonifay, Florida passed away March 27, 2026, at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center in Bonifay.  She was born on December 23, 1926, in Geneva, Alabama to the late Charles Sumpter Burch and Emma Irene Burch.  In addition to her parents, Ms. Shields was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie ‘Bo’ Shields and three siblings.

Ms. Shields is survived by three children, Jerry Shields, Janice Justice, and Diane Vanlandingham and husband Randy all of Bonifay, FL; three grandchildren, Alex Shields, Sherie Cunningham, and Teresa Golden; four great-grandchildren, Cierra, Tristan, Brittany, and Laylie, and one great-great-grandchild, Eva.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 30, 2026, in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Live Oak Assembly of God Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 9 to 10 AM at Peel Funeral Home.
