In Loving Memory of Richard “Rick” Edelstein

Richard “Rick” Wayne Edelstein, lovingly known as “Rocketman,” passed away peacefully on the morning of June 26, 2025, at 7:22 AM. He was 71 years old.

Born on September 20, 1953, Rick lived life with passion, humor, and an adventurous soul. He was a talented guitarist and a lifelong lover of music. He found joy in the simple pleasures — surfing the waves, casting a fishing line, and being near or on the water, his favorite place in the world. Rick’s stories were legendary — wild, funny, and unforgettable — told with a sparkle in his eye and always a punchline to make you laugh.

A devoted father and proud grandfather, Rick is survived by his three sons: Jeremiah (Melissa), Chad (Emily), and Shaun Edelstein, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild who lovingly called him “Grandpa Rick” and the love of his life, Sharon Edelstein, his partner through life’s highs and lows.  He is also survived by his brother, Larry Edelstein (Stephanie), sister Cindi, as well as several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Kenny, his sisters Donna and Carol Ann, and his brothers Butch and Gary.

Rocketman has lifted off for his trip to the Heavens. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

“I’ll see you when I look at you.” – Rocketman
