Mr. William A. Collins Jr. ‘Junior’, age 63, of Bonifay, Florida passed away June 13, 2026, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.  He was born October 6, 1962, in Bonifay, Florida to the late W. A. ‘Ace’ Collins and Hazel Mims Collins.  In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Michael Sanders, his maternal grandparents, Henry & Amanda Mims, his paternal grandparents, Henry & Minnie Lee Collins, his aunts, Hazel & Pat Lewis, Eunice & Red Hobbs, Laura Collins, Geraldine Collins, Versie Cooper, and Ernestine and J L ‘Polk’ Everette and his uncles, Whit & Ruth Collins, Drafton & Helen Mims, Wilmer & Betty

Mims, and Wilburn & Nolia Mims.

 

Junior was a graduate of Bethlehem High School and spent many years working as a truck driver, including his time with Collins Logging of Bonifay. He was a hardworking man who lived life on his own terms and was known for being true to himself. Those who knew Junior knew he was not afraid to be exactly who he was, whether people understood him or not, he lived his life his way.

 

Junior had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time as an outdoor sportsman.  In his later years, Junior was a resident of Hartford Health Care, and his family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff for the care, kindness, and compassion they provided.  While in the hospital, Junior accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, bringing comfort and peace to his family. 

 

One of Junior’s greatest joys in life was his nieces and nephews.  He loved them deeply and the memories, stories, and moments shared with them will remain a special part of the legacy he leaves behind.

 

Mr. Collins is survived by his sisters, Kathy Sanders, Marsha Ard and husband Mike, and Christal Johnson and husband Ronnie all of Bonifay, FL; his aunt, Connie Lowery of Bonifay, FL; his uncle, Winston Collins and wife Ruth of Bonifay, FL; eight nieces and nephews, Amanda Sapp & Chad, Ethan Johnson & Michaela, Seth Johnson & Shelby, Michael Ard, Adam Ard & Chesney, Mechelle Broaddus & John, Chip Sanders & Julie, and Clay Sanders; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

 

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2026, at Carmel Assembly of God Church.  Memorialization will be by cremation with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Carmel Assembly of God Church, 1485 Carmel Church Road, Bonifay, FL 32425
