Mr. Bobby Ray Holmes, age 71, of Westville, Florida, passed away on September 16, 2025, at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast in Miramar Beach, Florida. He was born March 1, 1954, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to the late Luther Holmes and Cozetta Brownell Holmes. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Holmes.
A proud graduate of Ponce de Leon High School, Class of 1972, Bobby was a member of the boys’ basketball team that made school history by winning the 1972 state championship. Bobby enjoyed the outdoors and found joy in working with his hands. He could do just about anything—building houses, farming, mechanic work. He was also a loyal Alabama football fan, cheering on the Crimson Tide every season. Bobby always chose to stay at home in Westville where his roots run deep. He lived a life full of hard work, simple pleasures, and love for the people around him.
